Guess that Author 2023
We are getting a head start on Author Day by playing a school wide game of "Guess that Author"!  5 clues will be given about the children's author that will be visiting our school in March.  All 5 clues are about the same children's author.  Read the clue/s about the children's author, and submit your guess.  You may only submit one guess a day.  Revisit the form each day to read the new clue and submit your guess.  The first student at every grade level to guess correctly will receive a prize!  Good luck!

Clues:

Clue #1: This year’s author grew up in Baltimore and spent much of his young life breaking rules.  It’s even been said that much of his time during Middle School was spent at the principal’s office.  He thought he’d one day write a book where each chapter in a 345,000 chapter book would describe a different way to be sent to the principal’s office during middle school!

Clue #2: This year’s author attended college in New York City studying English Literature and spent his third year of college in England.  He enjoyed all the reading homework.  During his time in England, he indulged in beef pasties and reading on park benches all day long.  And it was sometime thereafter that he discovered that he could be a writer - as he realized that all he needed to be happy in life was himself, a beef pasty, and his imagination!

Clue #3: This year’s author worked at St. Ann’s School in Brooklyn telling stories and teaching students in first grade, second grade, fifth grade and high school.  It was at St. Ann’s that he started writing down some of the stories he told his students and that’s how a Tale Dark and Grimm was born!

Clue #4: The Author created a series about two kids who travel around the world protecting mythical creatures from danger. Each book features a creature from a different global culture so he teamed up with other awesome authors from the cultures the characters would be visiting, to write the books.
