Hello!

Out in Health Care is an emerging organization at UC that is looking to bring together LGBTQ students interested in a career within the health care field as well as any students who are interested in learning about topics, research, and issues related to LGBTQ health. All queer, trans, and allies are welcome to attend!

Prospective topics include:

-Being out in the health care workplace and/or graduate/professional school
-Applying to professional programs: when and how should I decide to come out or not?
-Transgender health care
-LGBTQ health disparities
-HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other disease risks associated with LGBTQ health
-Sexual education and disease prevention
-Networking with current out professionals
-Research and shadowing opportuntities
-Discussions with current medical students, graduate students, and students of other health profession programs
-Information about LGBTQ health conferences and events
-And anything else ~you~ would like to talk about!

Meeting dates, times, and locations are TBD. This is intended to be informative and fun but not a major time drain for those interested; meetings are likely to be only once or twice a month (but can be more often if we have strong interest!).
