ECE Research Invitation: ECE Leadership

You are invited to participate in a study investigating ECE leader identities, leadership, and social justice. Participants must be ECE directors in any setting who spend a minimum of 30 hours on site and who already value social justice as a part of their leadership.

The purpose of the narrative qualitative study is to, 1) learn how early childhood center directors understand and practice social justice leadership, and 2) investigate the insights they gain about how to serve diverse children more equitably after participating in an identity and leadership storytelling self-reflection.

The doctoral student leading this study is Traci Childress. The first 10 people who respond to this form and meet all the criteria outlined, including the capacity to participate in the timeframe, will be contacted. This is for the completion of an Ed.D. in Educational Management and Leadership with Drexel University.

If you agree to participate, you will participate in a one-on-one interview lasting approximately 60 – 90 minutes between March and April. Half of the participants will be invited to participate in a second 60-90 minute interview. For the purpose of data collection, I ask that I be permitted to record the interview using Zoom and take handwritten notes through the process.  Participation in this study is completely voluntary, all participants will remain anonymous and will be identified only by pseudonym.
