Staff Rules and Regulations
As a staff member, you represent the core of our community. Your actions shape the environment for members and staff alike. These rules apply to all staff roles and are designed to promote professionalism, collaboration, and respect.
1. General Conduct
- Respect and Decorum: Show respect to all members, guests, and staff at all times. Avoid heated arguments or inflammatory behavior, both in public and private settings. If you simply can't avoid it, take it to DM's AND do not spread it further into the server.
- Zero Tolerance for Abuse: Staff are prohibited from using their position for personal gain, favoritism, or any form of exploitation.
- Professional Language: Use appropriate language and avoid offensive remarks in all interactions, especially in staff discussions and meetings.
2. Community Safety
- Age Verification: Ensure all members comply with the server's age verification process. Staff must monitor and enforce this rule to maintain the serverโs 18+ status.
- Reporting Concerns: Immediately report any suspicious or harmful behavior (e.g., grooming, harassment, or exploitation) to the Owner.
3. Staff Unity and Impartiality
- Unified Decisions: Staff must support team decisions publicly, even if they disagreed in private discussions. Internal debates must stay within the team.
- Bias-Free Actions: Avoid favoritism or personal bias when moderating disputes or issuing warnings. Always rely on evidence and server guidelines.
4. Privacy and Confidentiality
- Private Information: Do not share private or sensitive information about members, staff, or server operations without explicit permission.
- Secure Communication: Use staff-designated channels and private messages for discussing sensitive matters.
5. Moderation and Enforcement
- Consistent Enforcement: Apply rules equally to all members, including staff, without exceptions.
- Action Documentation: Record all disciplinary actions (e.g., warnings, kicks, bans) with evidence and reasoning in the document chat, in the staff section.
- Escalation Protocols: For severe violations, consult with the Owner or senior staff before taking permanent actions like bans.
6. Server Operations
- Content Approval: All announcements, events, and changes must be reviewed by the Owner or senior staff before implementation.
- Event Planning: Collaborate with the team to plan and execute events, ensuring inclusivity and alignment with server values.
- Server Etiquette: Avoid unnecessary or excessive tagging (e.g., @everyone). Keep communications relevant and organized.
7. Conflict Resolution
- De-escalation Skills: Use tact and patience to resolve conflicts between members or staff. Avoid escalating situations further.
- Chain of Command: For internal disputes, follow the chain of command. Speak directly to the involved parties first, and escalate to higher-ups if unresolved.
8. Activity and Engagement
- Weekly Check-ins: Maintain at least three hours of activity per week. Engage with the community actively and genuinely.
- Meeting Attendance: Attend all scheduled staff meetings or provide notice in advance if unable to attend.
- Inactive Status: Notify staff if you anticipate a prolonged absence. Unexplained inactivity of more than three months will result in removal from your role.
9. Inclusivity and Conduct in VRChat
- Inclusive Representation: When participating in VRChat, ensure the server's values are upheld. Do not engage in behavior that could tarnish the communityโs reputation.
- Public Interactions: Avoid drama or arguments in public VRChat lobbies or events while wearing group tags or representing the server.
- Appearance Standards: Ensure avatars and behavior adhere to server guidelines, avoiding overly provocative, offensive, or inappropriate content.
10. Reporting and Feedback
- Incident Reporting: Staff must document and report incidents promptly to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Feedback and Improvement: Regularly provide constructive feedback to improve server operations, events, or community features.
11. Prohibited Behavior
- Substance Abuse: While this is an 18+ server, public displays of excessive intoxication or substance abuse are discouraged. Maintain professionalism, even in informal settings.
- Inappropriate Content: Avoid sharing or endorsing content that is overly explicit, violent, or violates Discordโs or VRChatโs community guidelines.
- Personal Relationships: Avoid using your position to initiate or pressure members into personal or romantic relationships.
12. Final Notes
- Role Accountability: Staff roles are a privilege, not a right. Misconduct or failure to meet expectations will result in role removal.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay open to learning and adapting as the community evolves.
By adhering to these rules, you help maintain a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for all members and staff.
