For this year, instead of hassling about the best indie games of the year, I wanna open the door for games that were released this year in general. There's a variety of games out there and game of the year lists always just concentrate that variety to like, a core 5 games, so I want to fight against that this year.
Instead of a game of the year list, Indie Hell Zone will instead host a list of recommended games that released this year, consisting of things I'm interested in and whatever other people recommend! I'm looking for variety here, forget about guaranteed hits like The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Citizen Sleeper. There's a lot of good things that fly under the radar and I want to share them. I'm currently not sure how the list will be curated, but anything that multiple people vouch for will definitely be on there.
Rules:
- Recommendations has to have released this year, and it's gotta be indie. We could discourse over what's considered indie these days, but you know, stuff published under outlets like Devolver Digital falls under the "indie game people probably already know" category.
- Give a short description of the game you're recommending and say why you like it or are interested in it. Recommendations gotta come from the heart. If you want your comments to be added to the list with your recommendation, please specify if you'd want that.
- I mean, I don't know how to stop you if you recommend your own stuff, but please don't do that. That's nerd behavior.
