The ability of martial arts students to progress is in part due to their instructor’s teaching practices and abilities. Any information that can help a teacher improve how they teach will also help their students and schools that they teach at. Therefore, we are trying to 1) understand what teaching qualities students believe are the most important and if these beliefs are common among various backgrounds and 2) Understand what school-level characteristics students deem are most important to their martial arts education.
