Registration to the workshops
Travel in time, and experience the evolution of Golden Era belly dance! This two-part workshop leads you through the changes of the Egyptian movie Raqs Sharqi from the late 1930’ to 1960’. We will focus on specific dance movements and differences between the time periods, from posture change, hips technique, usage of shimmies, props, and shoes.

Both workshops start with a short lecture (20 minutes) about the particular era. Then, after the talk, we get to dance (100 min) – beginning with a quick warm-up, the technique of the particular times (the late 1930’ & 1940’ - the first workshop, 1950’ & and 1960’ - the second workshop), and finishing with the Golden era belly dance combinations (4 in total, 2 in each workshop).

 - All dance combinations can be connected together, and thanks to storytelling links, they will create a beautiful dance choreography.

 - There is an extra bonus of 30 minutes, so we can put all four combinations together, and finalize the choreography (see the snippets in the video below)
