Chicago Filmmakers Film & TV PA Training Program Application / Spring 2024

Program Description: 
This program provides the opportunity to develop the skills needed for entry level work in the motion picture and TV industry as a Production Assistant. Through classes, lectures, and hands-on film production exercises, the training will prepare participants for Production Assistant and related jobs, which are in high-demand on Illinois Television and Film productions. This valuable training is tuition free!

Selected participants are required to attend at least 80 hours of training from April through June 2024. Courses will be scheduled on some weekend days & weekday evenings during that period. A complete schedule is in development and will be shared upon acceptance. Participants must provide their own transportation to and from Chicago Filmmakers' facility at 1326 W. Hollywood Ave Chicago 60660.

Program Dates: April to June; Exact Dates TBD / Part time-Evenings and Weekends

Ideal Candidates:
We are looking for residents of Illinois who are passionate about the motion picture industry and are seriously committed to building a long-term career in the state's booming Television and Film industry. This program is intended to support workforce diversity in terms of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.

-- Young professionals starting out in the motion picture industry
-- Adults looking to enter or return to the creative workforce
-- No prior experience in film and TV is required

Eligibility Requirements:
-- Must be age 18 or older to apply
– Must have a valid driver’s license
-- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent (GED)
-- Must be a current resident of Illinois
-- Must be legally eligible to work in the US
-- Must provide proof for being fully vaccinated for COVID-19
