What does Boone Street Commons provide?
Boone Street Commons is a community-managed green space and NOT a City operated park. The Commons has approximately 6,500 square feet of usable area that can be used for outdoor events. There is ample street parking on both sides of Boone Street. Prior to your event, you may request to meet with a site leader to ask questions and to familiarize yourself with the site. Site leaders ARE NOT guaranteed to be available to provide any support on the day of your event so please request a meeting with a site leader ahead of your event.

Event organizers may post signage at the main entrance the day prior and the day of to inform neighbors that the Commons is reserved for the duration requested. The event calendar on our website will also indicate "Commons Reserved for [name of event]"
What are you responsible for?
As an applicant, you will be responsible for clean up after your event, creating promotional items (such as Facebook events & flyers), obtaining permits, and any additional equipment not available at the time of your event. Depending on your specific event, you may need permits, security, portable restrooms, and/or additional insurance.
Electricity
There is no electrical access at the park.

Water slides are not allowed. Temporary canopies, tents, and other structures must be weighted or staked to the ground for safety.

Glassware is not permitted in the Commons for safety reasons.

Use of the picnic tables, benches, grills are part of your reservation and tables and benches may be rearranged as needed. Water access (via a garden hose) is available if requested in advance.

Outdoor Grilling/Cooking equipment is allowed in marked grilling areas ONLY.

Since Boone Street Commons is both a park and garden, neighbors may still enter the park and garden area although the event organizer is not obligated to serve food to the community visitor.

Below are a few items we share with all event organizers who use Boone Street Commons. Some items may not be applicable to your event but it is good information to review and feel free to email or call with any questions.

Vehicles/Parking
Vehicles may pull into the park at the alley entrance on Boone Street for loading and unloading. There is ample back-in angle and parallel parking on Boone Street. No vehicle shall park in the alley areas on the north, west, and south sides of the park as residents and emergency vehicles must have access at all times. It is the responsibility of the event organizer to inform attendees to not park in the alley. If a resident informs me a car is blocking the alley, I will immediately contact the event organizer and if not resolved, the event will be shut down. There have been events in the past where attendees parked in the alley and disrespectfully spoke back at me or a neighbor. These neighbors are the very ones who help keep this park maintained and cleaned for all to use.

Trash removal
Park users are expected to clean up after themselves, their guests, and their dogs. Event organizers must remove any food waste, signs, balloons, other party decorations from the park at the end of their event, and not fill the park trash cans with trash from the event.

Boone Street Commons is responsible for emptying trash that accumulates in the trash cans from daily park usage.

Amplified Sound
Music may be played at a reasonable level. Any noise complaints will be forwarded to the event organizer. We have not received any citations for this but I am aware other parks in the area have received noise citations.
Will you be needing restroom access?
