Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer for the Divine Mercy House! Please feel free to call us at (904) 268-6282 with any questions.

Each prospective volunteer must attend a free three-hour session entitled “Protecting God’s Children”. This course is required and conducted by the Diocese of St. Augustine. Check with www.virtus.org for class information. There are many times and locations offered, so you can pick one that is convenient for your schedule! Upon taking the class, you will be provided with a certificate of attendance. Please turn in this certificate to us.
Next, each prospective volunteer must undergo a background check and drug test screening. Forms and information (costs, locations, etc.) for both can be picked up at Divine Mercy House, 4118 Loretto Road, Jacksonville, FL. 32223, between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., M-F (We encourage you to call us before making the trip over.)
FYI: Each volunteer is encouraged to participate in various trainings, including CPR and First Aid. The DMH staff will notify you via email of times and dates trainings will be scheduled.
Finally, a copy of our General Volunteer Guidelines will be provided to you once the above items are completed.

Facilitator ( Teach/ Lead a life skills class, Bible study, Arts & Crafts etc.)

Fundraiser Committee (Assist in Organizing fundraisers)

Transporter (Transport moms to appointments, work, shopping trips, etc.)

Evening House Aids ( Give overnight staff needed respite time. Weekdays 6pm-9am)

Baby Rockers (Give moms a break to rest or get things done by holding & playing with their babies)

Administrative Assistance (Various office and administrative tasks)

Cooks ( Cook or buy food for residents weekly, monthly, or for a special event. This can be done with residents at DMH or in your own home)

Special Events (Help throw a baby shower, birthday party, spa day, tea party; obtain tickets to local activities for the residents)
