Welcome to the abstract submission portal for
Greening Justice: Intersections of Law, Crime, and Victimology, a free one-day online conference taking place on Wednesday 6th December, 2023.
The School of Law and Criminology, Liverpool Hope University is pleased to announce a call for papers for a free one-day online conference exploring contemporary research and developments in justice responses to green crimes, environmental harm and activism. Contributions are welcomed from academics, policy-makers, and practitioners. The conference will take place on Zoom.
Papers may be of the following types:
* Completed or ongoing research.
* Theoretical or jurisprudential debates.
* Critical discussion of cases, legislation, or recent policy changes and practice.
* Country updates or overviews.
We particularly invite contributions that address any of the following:
1) Nonhuman animals, environmental entities, or the biosphere as victims.
2) Environmental activism and responses to it.
3) Legal mechanisms for achieving green justice.
4) Restorative green justice and alternative resolutions.
5) Academia, activism, and influencing policymaking.
Individual papers should be a maximum of 15 minutes. We will also consider proposals for whole panels, subject to time constraints.
The keynote presentation will be delivered by Prof. Angus Nurse (Anglia Ruskin University).
