2024 Summer Flash Player Registration & Tryouts

Players who are playing on a FCYSA 2024 Spring team (and have not played on an A-ball/Travel team after 3/31/2024) are eligible to register. A tryout is necessary at all levels and not all players may be accepted onto the teams. There are a limited number of spots on teams and thus we will need to have committed players and parents for the teams to be successful during the summer season. If FCYSA is unable to fill the rosters with players within the league, players from other cities will be considered.

There are three areas of criteria being evaluated for the selection to the teams:
(1) performance at the tryout, (2) play during the spring season, and (3) availability for the tournaments.

Commitment:
● Tournament ball is 5-6 days a week for 10U/12U and up to 4 days a week for 8U.
● Tournaments can start as early as Friday evening at 4pm and can end late on Sunday early evening.
● Players must be motivated and committed
● Playing time is earned and is not always guaranteed/equal
● Players have to want it, not just the parents
● The summer tournament schedule is currently planned for early June to early August. Additional tournaments may be added at the discretion of each team. Player availability is considered when forming the teams.

Age Eligibility:
Per USA Softball rules, age eligibility requirements are strictly enforced during the tournament season.
● 12U players must be born no earlier than Sept 1, 2010
● 10U players must be born no earlier than Sept 1, 2012
● 8U players must be born no earlier than Sept 1, 2014

Team Fees:
Fees for the 2024 Tournament Team season are estimated to be ranging from $500-$750 (not including travel & lodging if needed) depending on your division. Details will be communicated once tournament schedules are confirmed by coaches.

● 8U Division - 4/29/24 (Monday) @ 4:30pm - 6:30pm - Sea Cloud Park (B4)

● 10U Division - 4/30/24 (Tuesday) @ 4:30pm - 7:00pm - Sea Cloud Park (B4)
A-K (Last Name) - 4:30pm-5:30pm
All Pitchers/Catchers - 5:30pm-6:00pm
L-Z (Last Name) - 6:00pm-7:00pm

● 12U Division - 5/2/24 (Thursday) @ 4:30pm - 6:30pm - Edgewater Park

Please make every effort to attend your scheduled tryout and arrive at least 15 minutes early to check-in and warm up. Field locations will be communicated out to families closer to the tryout dates. Players interested in playing Summer Flash but can not make the scheduled tryout for their age group must notify the league in advance of tryouts if a makeup is needed.

Deadlines

Registration for 2024 Summer Flash Tryouts is mandatory and must be submitted by Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 11:59PM PST.
