Archives Committee - I'm interested in:
LMC's Archives Committee is the conservator, collector, and curator of LMC's 131-year history. It handles research inquiries and questions about the club's history; processes new donations of artifacts into our catalog; digitizes documents for public display on our website; and plans new ways to preserve and showcase our history through grants, events, and community partnerships.
Development Committee - I'm interested in:
LMC's work thrives on the generous grants and donations from community partners, funding organizations, and individuals. The Development Committee maintains these cherished relationships and seeks new funding opportunities for individual LMC programs and broader club goals.
Events Committee - I'm interested in:
The Events Committee plans and runs LMC's three large member events each year: the Fall Gathering, the Annual Spring Luncheon, and our Annual Meeting in early summer. Though largely focused on these "big three" events, the Events Committee may also partner with or support other programs and/or committees on special events like master classes or membership events.
Frances Walton Competition (FWC) Committee - I'm interested in:
The FWC brings top young classical musicians from across the U.S. to  Seattle for a competition and winners' concert. Winners embark on week-long tours, performing free concerts to underserved communities in Washington State. The FWC Committee runs this program, including adjudicating applicants, coordinating with finalists, managing tasks during theFinals and Winners' Concert Weekend, and facilitating Winners' Tours.
Music In Schools (MIS) Committee - I'm interested in:
Our MIS program works with selected underserved Seattle schools, introducing hundreds of K-8 students in person and online to music and dance from different cultures each year. The MIS committee facilitates these performances, coordinating between schools and artists, commissioning presentations and video recordings, and seeking out new performers.
Public Concerts Committee - I'm interested in:
LMC's Public Concerts committee oversees the Public Concerts program, which presents around 50 free classical music performances annually to thousands of attendees at community partner venues and online. Featuring mainly LMC performing members, these concerts showcase a wide range of styles and themes as well as educational information about the music. LMC Venue Managers serve as liaison for one venue, coordinating concerts and handling on-the-ground LMC concert management for that location.
Membership Committee - I'm interested in:
LMC's membership is made up of music, education, and arts advocates as well as actively performing musicians and composers. The Membership Committee seeks out and mentors new members. It also promotes music for members through special events and networking.
Special Interest Groups - I'm interested in:
The LMC's members represent a diverse range of musical interests and talents from across the Seattle region and beyond. Special Interest Groups allow LMC members to interact within smaller themed groups by instrument, location, or other interest. Current and former groups include Piano Group, Composers' Group, Opera Group, Eastside Group, and North End Group. There are no set parameters on groups-if you have an idea for one, note it below!
