Perform at DoES DoES Standup 2022!
As a last hoorah for our Boost member Kirsty Styles, and perhaps a first hoorah for DoES members and friends, (un)willing volunteers are invited to do a 10-minute comedy performance about anything you bloody well like at DoES DoES Standup on Wednesday 12 October 2022.

Made something? Done something? Found something? Know something? All thoughts and feelings welcome!

The idea is based on something called Bright Club – an academic comedy night which started at University College London but is now a global network – and if they can make academics funny... we'll be fine. Kirsty also created Standup for Journalism and no one really likes journalists!

There's an opportunity to work on your material and have a practice on Wednesday 14 September with a pro from Bright Club Manchester, but a good rule of thumb is:

– decide what you would like to talk about
– write down some ideas and share them
– plan 8 minutes for the 10-minute set – because 2 minutes will be laughter :D

There's also a **bonus opportunity** to perform at Bright Club Manchester on Tuesday 11 October, which is the day before our gig. Call it a final practice or tell yourself you're on the comedy circuit.

Any questions, contact Kirsty at kestyles1@gmail.com to find out more.
