"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.”
- Robert Frost
Pines and fir trees reached up towards the gray, clouded sky. Rock formations built upwards in steep walls, and occasional waterfalls from the melted snow cascaded down the clay sides. A writer meanders down the trails in these woods; seeing one, the one less traveled, he chooses to take it - seizing the moments of sunshine and yellow pennyroyal. Eventually, the writer trail-blazes off the beaten road and weaves his own path, starting a journey he will never forget!
Hi there folks! Welcome to The Young Scribes very first anthology sign-up! Please read the rules, which can be found
here, before you sign-up.
Sign-ups for the anthology open December 21st, 2023: upon signing up, we will briefly read over your bio and get back to you in a few days. If you are accepted into the anthology, you will then receive an email containing the rules, when and where to submit your story once you are finished, and any other follow-ups (inspiration: ie - quotes, pictures, songs, bible verses).

You may submit more than one story. However, come selection, only one story per author will be chosen for the anthology.
Your submission MUST have a theme that coincides with forest or woodsy aethstetic.
We ask that each story be 2,000 to 7,000 words (unless, it is necessary to the story, then, you may exceed the word count). Poems are 80 to 400 words. Our current accepted genre's include:
> mystery
> historical
> non-fiction
> comedy
> Sci-Fi
> fantasy
DISCLAIMER: please refer to the rules to see the full list of which sub-genre's we accept.
We are looking for wholesome, beautiful stories that glorify God! They do not have to have a Christian element, per say, though we do appreciate bibical values in submissions. Stories will be proofread and edited (we do highly encourage our writers to read/share your anthology story with a family member or close friend to get a fresh set of eyes on the manuscript before submitting, that way we can eliminate as much editing on our end as possible!) and then returned to the author with final approval or questions.
Once more, please refer to rules
here.
Thank you so much for being here; I look forward to seeing all y'all's stories! Remember, get creative! Whether your story is on a distant planet in a valley of dead ash trees or here on earth in a lush, temperate forest, we want to see your story weave Godly values and also see your growth as an author. This anthology is not about money - but about you - the author, the curator, the spinner of tales.
(Anything against these rules and regulations will not be accepted.)
All submissions made to The Young Scribes indicate your agreement with the rules and regulations.
