During the Spring term Reception are going to be learning about colour and pattern and focussing on the patterns we may find on animals.  To further the children’s understanding and experience of this we will be visiting London Zoo.  We feel this will provide a really valuable insight into the world of animals and allow the children to witness them first hand.

We plan to leave school at 9:00AM prompt and will be travelling by coach. We plan to be back by 3:30pm, collection will be from your child’s class at 3:45pm.  We will notify the school office if we are delayed on our return journey and you will be notified.  We are always grateful for parent helpers, if you would like to join us please indicate in the box below.

On arrival the children will have a chance to visit a range of animals in small groups in the morning and afternoon, with a lunch break together as a year group in the zoo grounds.  

As Reception children are entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals our caterers can provide your child with a school packed lunch for the trip. This will consist of either a ham, cheese or tuna mayonnaise sandwich, carrot/cucumber sticks or a piece of fruit, and a biscuit.  You can place an order for a school packed lunch below.  You are also welcome to pop an extra snack in your child's backpack for the trip. If you decide to order a school packed lunch please remember to log into your ParentPay account and order a school lunch for 17th March.  

If you would prefer to provide a home packed lunch instead that is also fine, please do not send your children with fizzy drinks or glass bottles.
PLEASE MAY WE ASK YOU TO PUT YOUR CHILD'S LUNCH IN A DISPOSABLE BAG SO THAT IT CAN BE THROWN AWAY.  We are unable to carry lunch boxes, and the children will need to keep their hands free.

Please provide your child with a small backpack for the day to hold their water bottle and disposable lunch items. Please also ensure they have a suitable coat/jacket for the weather.

To cover the cost of the trip, we need to ask for a payment of £21.25 per child.  We will need this payment to have been made on your child’s Scopay account by the 01st February 2022 deadline.
No child will be excluded from the trip on the basis of being unable to pay this amount and the school will seek to help where possible. However, if we don't collect enough funds to cover the cost of the trip it will not go ahead.  If you have any queries or difficulties, please speak to your class teacher.
