Peer Mentorship Program: Mentee Application
Thank you for considering the Peer Mentorship Program and expressing interest in having a mentor! This application will help us match you with a mentor who aligns closely with your personality, interests, hobbies, academic goals, and more. By sharing information about yourself, you’ll enable us to connect you with someone who can provide meaningful guidance and support throughout your journey. We’re excited to learn more about you and help facilitate a valuable mentorship experience!

Note: Mentors and mentees will be required to participate until the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Students can discontinue the program at anytime, but are required to notify Upward Bound staff. Students will have to reapply at the beginning of each school year.

Accepted mentees will be required to attend an orientation on Saturday, September 21 at Cosumnes River College from 11:30am - 1:00pm.

Peer Mentorship Program Mission
The mission of the Upward Bound Peer Mentorship Program is to assist first-generation high school students in establishing a support system and acquiring essential professional and transferable skills. We achieve this by facilitating meaningful connections and relationships between peer mentees, mentors, and co-mentors. Through mentorship, guidance, and collaboration, we aim to:
  • Empower Students: Provide students with the guidance, resources, and support they need to navigate high school successfully and pursue their academic and personal goals with confidence.
  • Develop Skills: Equip students with a diverse set of professional and transferable skills essential for their personal growth and future success in various career paths.
  • Foster Community: Cultivate a supportive and inclusive community where students feel valued, connected, and encouraged to support one another in their journeys.
  • Promote Networking: Facilitate networking opportunities that enable students to connect with coordinators and peers who can offer valuable insights, advice, and mentorship.
  • Encourage Leadership: Inspire students to become leaders in their communities by providing them with opportunities to develop leadership skills, take initiative, and make a positive impact.
