Thank you for your interest in Shasta Environmental Alliance's shade tree project! Please note that this is an interest form and does not mean that you will absolutely be selected to have a tree planted.

WHAT TO EXPECT
SEA will be responsible for marking the area for planting. We request that you or someone you know help SEA volunteers plant the tree on a scheduled date (TBD). Please have a hose or some other form of water available for the day of planting. Most of our trees will be planted in Fall 2024.

ONGOING INVOLVEMENT
Once your tree is planted, you will be responsible for the care of your tree by providing weekly watering of the tree of 5-15 gallons for the first three years. This will also depend on the weather and usually will be between April and October and any dry winter months. This can be performed by filling a 5-gallon jug, using a hose on a slow drip, or connecting your tree to irrigation. This will ensure the tree's roots get established successfully and grow to provide much-needed shade to your home.
