On Sept. 13th, Saadia Faruqi will be doing a virtual presentation with the Water, Fire and Sixth Grade classes to introduce her latest book, Yusuf Azeem is Not a Hero. Saadia is a Pakistani American author, essayist, interfaith activist, and creator of the wildly popular Yasmin early reader series. Her newest book, follows Yusuf who realizes, with the approach of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, that the anger towards his Muslim community hasn’t gone away. He finds the courage to stand up to the bullies, with understanding, justice, and love.
