MD-DE Wildlife Society Fall 2019 Meeting Registration
MD/DE Chapter’s 2019 Fall Meeting is coming up September 25th!
 
Our Fall meeting will be held at Robinson Nature Center, Columbia, Maryland.    
 
This Fall’s Theme is Geese, Galliformes, and Geocaching.
 
Wednesday, September 25th:
 
9:00 am: Registration
 
9:00 – 9:30 am: Welcome, Introduction, General Meeting (Chapter State Members-at-Large will present an update of important wildlife-related research being done in each state and pending/new policy initiatives that impact wildlife resources).
 
9:30 – 11:00 am: Outdoor geocaching activity by Robinson Nature Center.

11:00 – 11:30 am: Speaker – Bob Long

Title: Bobwhite Quail in Maryland
Bob Long is the Upland Game Bird Project Manager for Maryland Department of Natural Resources (MD DNR). Overview, status, and history of Bobwhite Quail management in Maryland including habitat management techniques currently being used by MD DNR.
 
11:30 –12:30 pm: Lunch
 
12:30 – 1:00 pm: Speaker – Kayla Harvey

Title: Atlantic Flyway Canada Goose Update
A follow-up from a Spring Meeting topic. Updates and hot topics regarding the status of Canada Geese in the Atlantic Flyway and what it means for future hunting and management.

1:00 – 1:15 pm: Break/photo contest

1:15 – 1:45 pm: Speaker – Drake Hardman

Title: Male Eastern Turkey Survival Spatial Ecology and Roost Behavior in Delaware
Drake is a University of Delaware graduate student working on a turkey project focusing on mortality of male turkeys. This follows a graduate project performed at University of Delaware looking at mortality of female turkeys.

1:45 – 2:15 pm: Awards/photo contest winner announcements

2:30 pm: Adjourn

The Chapter will be holding a Photo Contest – the PRIZE will be awarded at our Fall Meeting. Bring a print version of your photograph to the meeting. Attendees will vote on a winner during the event.

Get your cameras out and shoot a photo that highlights the North American wildlife/landscape theme. This contest is about bringing out the wildlife theme and connecting people to wildlife.

Terms:
-Individuals must be present at the MD-DE Fall 2019 Meeting to accept the award.
-The decision of the winner will be final.
-Entries that have won any other competition will not be permitted. There will be a limit of one entry per person per category. There is NO entry fee!
-Photos must contain a North America wildlife/landscape related theme.

All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them. Photos that include people must have the appropriate permission of those in the photo to be posted here.

Please fill out the registration form below by September 21. Cost for the meeting is $15. Our Fall Meeting is also our Membership Meeting - please pay your Annual membership dues (Regular $10; Students $5) or be prepared to pay them at the Registration Desk. Membership fees may be paid separately or at the door. A link providing payment information will be provided once form is submitted.
