Tired of receiving injunctions about your identity? Of having your identity misunderstood and misrepresented by the media or by extremists?

Focused on highlighting individual identities, this program aims at giving a voice to young European Muslims on themes such as gender equality, religious beliefs or social integration. How do you perceive your place in society? What messages do you want to convey to your generation?  

“European Citizens Committed to Concord” offers an unprecedented opportunity to  learn to use the internet effectively and join an active network of citizens committed to social cohesion.  

Starting in the month of July 2020, this project will gather 100 young Europeans from 18 to 35 years old (British, French, German, Belgian et Austrian) willing to make themselves heard. It offers 3 months of online training with media specialists, journalists and experts coming from Social Media companies. The learning will take place through online video lessons, webinars, mentored activities and a discussion forum where participants will be interacting with each other. Participants will need a time commitment of 2hrs per week in July 6th and September 6th 2020.

After the training, between September 2020 and June 2021, several events and workshops will be offered to participants to gather, work together and exchange with programers, journalists, historians and sociologists.

The objective is to accompany these European youth to produce online video and written content and to maximize its outreach. In the spirit of fighting discriminations and online hate, it will equip participants with essential skills in the field of online communication and leadership as well as convey their ideas to the largest possible audience through news reports, narratives or awareness campaigns for instance. By supporting emerging web influencers, it provides a unique chance for Muslim citizens who are convinced of the importance of participating in public debates and advocate for their ideas.
