The East Central Band and East Central School District Band Boosters Club (ECISD Band Boosters) have social media platforms to promote the band programs of the East Central Independent School District. In addition, articles of general interest are published in local newspapers or newsletters, stories are broadcast on local television stations, and videotapes brochures and pictorial displays are produced about the East Central band. Often photographs or video images of students, teachers, administrators, and other staff are often featured in such communications.

This form is to inform you and to request permission for your child’s photo/image, and name to be published on the band's and band booster's social media platforms. These platforms are operated and maintained by the East Central band directors and the ECISD Band Boosters and the views and comments on this website are strictly those of their authors. Unless expressly noted, the information here does not represent official views or statements of the East Central Independent School District (ECISD) or the staff the band programs represent. These platforms include the band website, band booster website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

As you are aware, there are potential dangers associated with the posting of personally identifiable information on a website since global access to the Internet does not allow us to control who may access such information. However, we do want to celebrate your child and his/her work in the band program. The law requires that we ask for your permission to use information about your child.

Pursuant to law, we will not release any personally identifiable information without prior written consent from you as parent or guardian. Personally identifiable information includes student names, residential addresses, e-mail address, and phone numbers. The ECISD Band Boosters will never use more than a photo/image, video and/or first name and first initial of the last name of any student shown on their platforms to maintain their confidentiality. Pictures of your student may appear on the website at any time and we request permission to use his/her first name and the first initial of their last name for information such as awards, recognition and leadership. If you, as parent or guardian, wish to rescind this agreement, you may do so at any time in writing by sending a letter to the band directors or ECISD Band Boosters and such rescission will take effect upon its receipt.
