Would you like a 2-week summer job? Do you need class credit, internship, or volunteer hours? Either or both are possible as a Counselor with Camp Adventure. Counselors not only mentor and supervise 8-12 year olds but they also mentor Counselors in Training (CITs).
Camp Adventure is a two-week day camp at Texas A&M University sponsored by the Department of Health and Kinesiology. Camp Adventure is for boys and girls ages 8-12. Campers are divided into teams by age. We have planned an exciting and fun program for your child which includes outdoor adventure experiences and a few sports skills.
Learning is more than what happens in a classroom. Camp Adventure provides children with a chance to experience and learn new skills while having a great time. Camp Adventure offers activity-based hands on experiences, which include everything from archery to camping skills, with fun games from floor exercise and pickleball, arts and craft and water days. Camp Adventure is educational and fun for children.
The counselor-camper ratio at each activity will be approximately 2:9. Each group of nine campers will be assigned a counselor who will be with that group all day. Each activity will have an instructor specifically trained in that activity and the group’s counselor will assist. The counselors and activity instructors are college students and /or teachers who enjoy working with young people.
Facilities used by campers are some of the best in the country. Texas A&M’s Physical Education Activity Program Building, ropes course at the ChallengeWorks, the lakes at Millican Reserve and other outdoor campus areas.
Camp Adventure is an exciting learning experience you will not want your child to miss. We look forward to a good camp experience for your child.
