Gateway to Science: Experiments and Computations in Chemistry
This workshop will introduce students to experimental and computational research in chemistry of protein and computational methods.
Antimicrobial proteins protect humans from invading pathogens. By working on one such human protein, the students will perform biochemical experiments to generate protein samples and investigate their structure using spectroscopic methods.

Students with a genuine interest in the sciences but not pursuing a science curriculum are welcome to apply as long as they have completed a course in Chemistry
Size of Workshop:
• Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Cost: FREE—The professors conducting the workshop are generously volunteering their time to deliver this opportunity free of cost
Dates/When: 07/08/2019 – 07/18/2019, (two weeks) 4 days a week (Monday – Thursday) from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
(1 hour lecture and 2 hours lab)
