VT Fall 2024: Parent Signup Form
The Office of Civic and Community Engagement's Virtual Tutoring Program pairs Wake Forest student tutors with your child(ren) for completely virtual one-hour sessions once every week. Tutors and students are “matched” based on a variety of criteria including subject knowledge, grade level preference and scheduling availability. Returning families will be able to rematch if both parties are actively participating and agree to do so.

This tutoring service is free for K-12 students attending schools in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County in North Carolina. Children attending private and/or charter schools are eligible to participate. Please submit a separate form for each child. If you have any questions, please contact Olivia Liles and Erika Nathanson (virtualtutoring@wfu.edu).

By clicking here, I am certifying that my child is currently enrolled in a school in Forsyth County and that my child has my permission to participate in the Office of Civic & Community Engagement’s Virtual Tutoring Program. I understand that my child will be matched with a tutor based on my child’s needs and availability, and that my child may be reassigned to another tutor at any time. I understand that my child must meet with a tutor for a minimum of 1 hour, at least once per week to be considered “enrolled” in the program. After two missed sessions or failure to meet the enrollment requirements, students may not be permitted to remain enrolled in the program. I understand that the tutor is participating on a voluntary basis and is not a trained teacher or instructor. Therefore, there are no guarantees that working with the tutor will increase my child’s grades, test scores, etc. I understand that Wake Forest University and the tutor are not responsible for any technical difficulties that may occur during a tutoring session. I understand that there are risks associated with participating in a virtual program such as, but not limited to, cyber-hacking and I agree to accept those risks and will not hold Wake Forest University or the tutor responsible for risks that may occur during my child’s participation in the program. *
