The ITQB NOVA launched a Mentoring Pilot Program to foster and guide the professional development of researchers.
The Mentoring Pilot Program provides a scaffold to support the professional development of researchers (Mentees) by promoting meetings with more experienced professionals (Mentors), who can provide advice and help reflect on different issues related with both the development of the mentee's career, within or outside research/academia, and their own personal development.
The participation on the Pilot Mentoring Program implies obligation to follow the program for one year.
As a Mentor, you have the following roles and responsibilities:
- Help Mentees to build self-confidence
- Share knowledge, skills and experience
- Assist the Mentee in identifying personal strengths and career planning
- Help in providing the Mentee connections for developing their own professional networks
- Meet with the Mentee at least two times a year
- Maintain confidentiality about the information provided by the Mentee
- Provide the Mentee with some feedback/comments/suggestions/advices after the in-person meetings
- Sign the Mentorship Agreement
By filling in this form, you agree to be part of a list of Mentors, which will be shared internally with our Mentees. You can ask to be removed from this list whenever you want by emailing to
itqb.mentoring@itqb.unl.pt
At this point there is no commitment on your part. Mentees will personally invite Mentors, based on their current needs and you will have the chance to assess your interest in joining this Pilot Program. You will be asked to agree on the terms of the Mentor-Mentee relationship, after you accept becoming a Mentor to a particular Mentee.
