As a Mentor, you play an important role in easing the new students' transition to Concordia and in the Health, Kinesiology, and Applied Physiology program, and in helping them feel a little less overwhelmed by their new environment. There are many benefits to volunteering, including:
- making new social connections
- developing communication skills
- acquiring mentorship experience
- obtaining Certificate of Recognition by the Head of the HKAP Department
By joining the HKAPSA Buddy Program (sponsored by HKAPSA), you're committing to:
- a minimum of ONE academic term
- e-mailing your Buddy within 7 days of being matched
- setting up a Zoom meeting or in person session to speak to your Buddy (optional, if you prefer a more interactive discussion)
- sending a check-in message to your Buddy halfway through the semester
- reading the rules of being a Mentor (document will be sent once you've been matched)
