We hope you will attend Leeds University. Please select one session for each question. We will do our best to place you in your top choices. A few of the sessions are 40 minutes in length and will take 2 time slots.

ALICE - Walk through an ALICE lesson, answer any questions or concerns about ALICE, and learn tips on how to help you and your family carry over ALICE outside of school.

Get Creative - Learn how creativity enhances thinking and problem solving skills and receive ideas for at home creative activities.

Early Literacy at Home (PreK-1) Discover the importance of reading at home and how to engage your child in conversations about what they are reading. We will even create a reading journal for you to take home!

Bullying and More - Discuss the differences between bullying, teasing, and isolated negative behaviors. Learn strategies that students can use to help themselves and each other if bullying is occurring.

Staying Healthy - Review the importance of getting a flu vaccine and provide flu vaccine consent forms. Discuss when to send a child to school and when to leave a child at home (I.e. lice, fevers, vomiting). All questions answered!

School Improvement- Learn about Leeds’ School Improvement Goals and have an opportunity to share how you believe we can support our students and community.

Technology in the Classroom (Grade 2-5) Learn about google classroom, Read and Write for Google, and Typing Club. How these apps are used in the classroom and how students can access them from home.

Building Fine Motor Skills (PreK-1)- Students and parents will play games to learn letters and letter sounds. Each family will take home all the resources to play these games at home.

Shared Reading (Grades 1-2)- We will learn the process of how our students are learning to read and become better readers through Shared Reading using the Bookworms Reading Program. Practice reading with your child and learn ways to carry over what they are doing at school at home.

Writing- Can you RAP? Students are expected to respond to text in writing daily. Learn about an approach to written responses that will help students formulate their writing that can be used with all grade levels to enhance responses.

Complex Writing (Grade 4-5) Review the expectations for writing paragraphs and more complex sentences. We will look at sample responses and review them based on grade level rubrics.

Math (Grade 1) See what a daily lesson is like in first or second grade math. We will look at Number Talks, as well as our Envision Resource. There will even be some resources to take home with you!

Math (Grade 2) Work with your student practicing 2nd grade math strategies for addition and subtraction. Identify math goals in which your student should be able to meet in their 2nd grade year.

Multiplication Strategies (Gr. 3-4) Explore strategies to solve multiplication problems. Engage in activities to build multiplication fluency.

Gifted and Talented Program Meeting (Grades 3-5) For identified third, fourth, and fifth grade students and parents. See the gifted program curriculum, materials, and schedule for the 2029-20 school year.
