Vegetables NZ, in combination with A Lighter Touch and Plant and Food Research, is hosting several practically focused field days to familiarise growers and crop advisors with implementing an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach to vegetable production. Topics will include crop monitoring, identification of pests and beneficial insects, understanding key diseases, etc. Broccoli will be used as the focus crop, but onions and barley will also be part of the workshop.
The field day will occur over several weeks to follow the crop through its growth. The field days will be split into two parts, a field-based session aimed at the crop, and a classroom session where participants will discuss the findings from the field. For those people not based in Pukekohe but who register for the events, the classroom session will be available through Microsoft Teams, with the link sent to the email you use to register.
