My name is Crystal Owens, and part of my PhD research at MIT in Cambridge, USA is developing new tools for rheometry of complex fluids.

Yield stress fluids are particularly tricky, and often approximations have to be made to get any measurement at all. In this context, we want to understand what measurement tools are used, what could be improved, and what is the state of the market in this field.
