Foraging classes will take place at a variety of locations including Flourish Farmstead in Godfrey, IL, Tower Grove Park, Forest Park, and other local parks.
1-2 classes will be held per month from March-November
By signing up for the foraging program, you will have free access to ALL of the foraging workshops led by Flourish Farmstead.
We will cover:
Introduction to foraging, plant identification
Ethics of foraging: Participants will gain an understanding of the ethics of foraging.
This will include information about at-risk plants in Missouri/midwest region, ecosystem conservation, and basic guidelines/ rules for foraging.
Foraging invasive species
Foraging safety: This will include information about where foraging is allowed, precautions to take when foraging, where and when not to forage
Resources for foraging (field guides, books)
Importance of binomial nomenclature in foraging
Urban, Suburban, and Rural foraging basics
Seasonal foraging in the Midwest
Learn common plants and mushrooms to forage in the spring
Learn common plants and mushrooms to forage in the summer
Learn common plants and mushrooms to forage in the fall

4/5 5:30- 7 pm Spring Foraging
4/6 5:30-7 pm Foraging with kids (bring a friend or bring the family)
