English Baccalaureate (Ebacc)
The English Baccalaureate is recommended for students who have an aptitude and enjoy studying a foreign language. The ability to understand a second language is an attribute that is welcomed and respected by some Universities, should your son aspire to Higher Education post 18. The Ebacc will involve your son studying GCSE French or Spanish and either Geography or History.
Step 1 - English Baccalaureate (Ebacc) Options

Ebacc Route: If your son intends to follow the Ebacc Route, he will have to study GCSE French or Spanish AND either Geography or History.

Non-Ebacc Route: If your son does not intend on following the Ebacc Route, he has to choose GCSE French or Spanish or Geography or History.
