NEW*
We have an interactive Session Room that will be a fishbowl style of
chairs with room for interactive education for Friday, March 17 -
General Sessions. We want our attendees to move and experience
education. Please consider this set-up while proposing presentations.
Deadline for proposal submission is January 11, 2022
Selection(s) for the conference will be announced January 18, 2023
Proposal Selection Criteria
Presentations for our PNWAER Conference should educate participants about successful practices, innovations, research, or expanded perspectives that improve services to students and clients who are blind or visually impaired. We encourage presentations addressing all aspects of working with the blind and visually impaired: Education, Rehabilitation, O&M, Early Intervention, etc.
Conference Presentations & Accessibility
All conference presentations need to be designed with accessibility as the priority. If selected as a presenter, PNWAER will provide presenters with guidelines and rules to follow with all presentation formatting and handouts for attendees. Presenters chosen to participate in the conference will be expected to provide all presentations and handouts by January 30. If they are inaccessible, PNWAER will request formatting changes. If the presenter cannot meet these guidelines without reasonable accomodation, then PNWAER reserves the right to disallow presenters from participating in the conference.
All conference materials, including presentations, programs, and handouts, will be available online only via a secured website. Large print or braille programs will be provided for attendees upon request. No other materials will be provided hard copy.
Conference Registration for Accepted Presenters
All presenters who plan to attend the conference and present in general sessions must register and pay the conference registration fee. Presenters selected for Full-Day conference presentations will have their registrations fee waived. Those who plan to present only will still need to register, but the registration fee will be waived.
Conference Set-Up
- Each selected presenter will have a designated date and time for the presentation
- Each presentation room will have a conference presider, and the presider will provide support to the presenters with questions, introductions, A/V, distributing surveys and codes for professional education credits, and keeping sessions running on time
