Welcome to Debrecen, Hungary's second largest city. Debrecen is a historic city located in the Great Hungarian Plain 220 km from Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Debrecen has a bustling international university community, and one of Europe’s top birding sites, Hortobagy National Park (a UNESCO protected area) is just a short drive away.


To discuss the several aspects of conservation biology we are inviting elit scientists recent advanteges in study of social begaviour and population demography and its impact on conservation biology. The conference will also offer opportunities to young scientists and students to present their work, and discuss potential projects with senior scientists.

The provisional programme is as follows:
Thursday 9 January 2020 – Arrival and welcome
Friday 10 January 2020 - Full day scientific programme: presentations by senior speakers, and contributions by participants
Saturday 11 January 2020 - Full day scientific programme: presentations by senior speakers, and contributions by participants
Sunday 12 January 2020 - Excrusion, departure


Registration deadline:  10th December 2019.


Registration is FREE for every participants.


We hope to organise social events that may include slide shows and bowling night, so feel free to bring your partner.

Travel:
By air: Nearest airports are Debrecen and Budapest. WizzAir now offers direct flights to Debrecen from various European locations for a modest price. There are airport transfers available to and from both airports, please see http://www.civistranszfer.hu/en/
By car: From Budapest it takes about 2 hours to drive to Debrecen.
By train: There is regular train service connecting Debrecen to Budapest (one train every hour for the direct route).
