Gmail CSE Beta Test Application

This Pre-General Availability Test Application (the “Test Application”) is incorporated into and made part of the agreement governing your use of Google Workspace services (the "Agreement").  The Agreement may be, for example, the Google Workspace Terms of Service, the Google Workspace Services Schedule to the Google Cloud Master Agreement, or Google Workspace for Education Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined in this Test Application have the meaning stated in the Agreement.

Use this Test Application to apply for access to Gmail Client-Side Encryption (CSE) Beta (the “Test Product”). The Test Product is a Pre-GA Offering. If you are granted access to the Test Product, the terms in this Test Application, together with the Agreement, will govern access to and use of the Test Product.

The Test Product will allow a Super Admin to manage the encryption keys used for exchanging emails sent through Gmail using the CSE feature.

Setup instructions for this Beta are available through the customer documentation from Google and participating third-party key management service providers, which will be shared prior to start of Beta.

Specific Test Terms. Testing for this Beta may be performed using production data, users, and systems. Encryption is limited to the body of emails; including attachments. The header of the email, including subject line, timestamps, and recipient lists, is not encrypted. Please note that data managed by customer keys may not be able to be restored if the key is lost or deleted. Your keys are managed at your discretion and at your own risk.

Use of a third-party key management service and identity provider may be required to use this feature.  Any data processed by and any service provided by the third-parties are subject to their terms.  This includes service availability and service level agreements (SLAs).

In order to fulfill Customer's instruction to develop the Test Product, usage metrics (e.g., the number of CSE emails and CSE users) will be collected solely to provide, test, analyze, develop, and improve the Test Product. Due to the functionality of the Test Product, Google cannot and will not analyze the body text of emails.

By submitting this Test Application, you represent and warrant that (i) you have full legal power and authority to bind Customer to the terms in this Test Application; (ii) you have read and understand the terms in this Test Application; and (iii) you agree, on behalf of Customer, to the terms in this Test Application.
