2021 Youth Auditions
Please read and complete this Google Form to register your child for Arc Light's 2021 Youth Auditions.

Auditions will be held SATURDAY, MAY 1 from 9am to Noon and SUNDAY, MAY 2 from 2pm to 4pm.  Each child auditioning will reserve an audition appointment that will last approximately 20 minutes with up to 3 other children to audition as a group.

This form needs to be filled out individually for each child.  A Sign-Up Genius link is included at the end of this form to reserve an audition time slot.  Auditions will only be held for those who completed both the Google Form and the Sign-Up Genius link.

This form includes several sections of information regarding the precautions and mitigations that will be enforced for our 2021 summer season.  While we understand that there is a lot of information here, we feel it important that families know and confirm their understanding of the procedures we will be utilizing prior to signing up for an audition.

Our 2021 Youth Plays will be performed on SATURDAY, JULY 17 and SUNDAY, JULY 18.  (*This is later in the summer than we typically hold our productions!)

We are splitting our youth productions up into smaller plays with shorter runtimes and smaller casts in order to pod students together.  Each play will have a maximum of 12 cast members.  Interested children will audition for all of the directors at each level; the directors will then place the kids into scripts based on best fit and availability.

For children aged 7-11, we will cast three productions directed by Michele Knott, Caitlin Lewellyn, and Sydney Kelly: "Snow White Lite", "Peggy the Pint Sized Pirate", and "The Bank Job".  These plays will each be presented twice between 1pm and 5:30pm on the performance dates.

For children aged 12-16, we will cast two productions directed by Cheri Semelroth and Katie Haage: "The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon" and "Game of Tiaras".  These plays will be presented between 6pm and 9pm on the performance dates.

If there is a high number of children auditioning for these shows, directors have another potential play to add to the roster of shows.  As such, we are unable to provide specific times for performances.  These will be available after auditions have been completed.

Descriptions of these shows are available on the Arc Light website: www.arclightpro.com

AUDITION INFORMATION
Auditions open to those aged 7-16*
*Previous participants who would have aged out in 2020 and are now 17 may still audition since they missed their last year of eligibility

Auditions will be held in person at BUTLER HAYNES PARK in the Oz Shelter (located at the back of the park by the Oz Garden) (9424 S Mapleton Road Mapleton, IL 61547)

Those who audition need to check the Arc Light Facebook page by 9pm on the night prior to the scheduled audition to confirm the location - in the event of forecasted weather that would prevent outdoor auditions we will move to an indoor location

Masks will be worn by all auditioning and any parents/guardians who accompany young children to the audition site

A sign-up genius link will be available to sign up for an appointment slot as well as an accompanying Google Form to collect contact information

Auditions will be held only for those who have reserved a time on the sign-up form AND submitted the Google Form - no walk-up auditions will be accepted

We will monitor the form and add additional slots if there is demand.  Please contact Arc Light if interested in auditioning but the available times do not work

Conflicts will be collected as part of the audition form.  While we understand it is impossible to know every upcoming conflict between now and the performances, please be as specific as possible and list any tentative or possible conflicts as well - attendance / availability is crucial in determining placement into smaller cast pods of actors

Directors will have strict policies regarding rehearsal attendance; absences not submitted on the audition form will count as strikes toward removal from the show

Those auditioning should arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to their reserved slot.  Parents/guardians should remain on site - audition windows are 20 minutes and auditioning children should leave site immediately following the conclusion of their audition

Those who audition are acknowledging that they understand the mitigations and restrictions placed on this year’s productions and commit to following them

Final cast lists will be posted following auditions with rehearsals starting the week of May 10

A parent/guardian meeting presentation will be distributed digitally through Google Slides at the beginning of May with relevant information about the season.
