New Blueprints of Justice Design Studio
Stanford students are invited to join New Blueprints of Justice, a multidisciplinary design studio, organized by Nóra Al Haider (Stanford Legal Design Lab) and Oana Stănescu (MIT School of Architecture + Planning) in collaboration with Virgil Abloh.

Participants will re-imagine new court infrastructures for hybrid systems — especially as more courts go virtual with COVID-19 and contemplate how to bring more equity and accessibility to users of the courts.

We will identify and address challenges the courts and its visitors will face in losing the benefits of physical spaces provided by courthouses. Together – in interdisciplinary law, design, and architecture teams – we will design prototypes for real-life case studies to create new inclusive court infrastructures and increase access to justice.

The first workshops will be held on: Feb 23– 10:00am - 1:00pm PST and Feb 25 – 10:00am - 1:00pm PST, where Sheriece Perry, Senior Manager of the Department of Support Services for the Massachusetts Trial Courts, will lecture on the Massachusetts Court System during the Pandemic, and Sarah Glassmeyer, lawyer and research fellow in the Harvard Library Innovation Lab who will be lecturing on the Civil Justice Gap.
