Hello darlings! This is a place where you can apply to be a part of Bush Magik - Tropical Fruits NYE Festival on Widjabul Wia-bal Land. We pay our deepest respects to the First Nations people who's land on which we live, work and party on. Always was, always will be.
~BUSH MAGIK~
Bush Magik is a return to our grassroots & rhizomes, a festival for up to 2000 people, consisting of three dance parties across the 30th (Camp party), 31st (NYE party) & the 1st (Recovery party), our renowned Cabaret (NYE) the crooked ‘Next Day Cabaret’ (NYD) as well as an arts & cultural program with panels, workshops & activities that showcases an incredible diversity of skills, talents and voices of our local and broader LGBTQ+ communities.
As part of Bush Magik, we are excited to bring together a gorgeous, inspiring and pleasurable arts & cultural program (think workshops, panels, spaces to: be, do, create, listen, learn, watch).
This is an expression of interest form for all people who may wish to be part of the Bush Magik Arts & Cultural program.

We are seeking expressions of interest in alignment with Tropical Fruit's values and vision, for volunteer workshops, panels, yarning circles (First Nations), roving performances, displays, performance in a space you create, and any kind of offering! We invite you to bring your imagination, creativity and passions to Bush Magik New Year's Festival. Please consider ideas and offers that fit into the following themes:
🌱 Bush Caring & Our Future
We're talking ecological sustainability and regeneration, climate action, radical imagination for more possibility for our future. How can our relationships with nature be reimagined to embolden new modes of caring, being and belonging in these times?
👄 Bodily Dreams & Delights
Exploring personal and collective desire, diverse expressions of the body, and embracing the pleasures of being exactly ourselves.
👩🏻🤝👨🏾 Queer Mutual Aid & Justice Space
Sharing stories and skills of collective community care and social justice. We invite discussions, workshops, stories that inspire us to know our history, understand the amazing way we save our own lives.
🤡 The Bold and Outrageous
This is all about embodying creativity, extravagance, daring and jaw dropping expressions of art, performance and roving movement.
Preference will be given to EOI's that are fun, safe, inclusive and that align within these themes.
Please note that we are interested in a range of ideas and facilitators with a variety of abilities and experiences to bring our for magikal festival to life. <3
