Discrete-event Simulation in industrial systems
The course introduces the discrete-event simulation (DES) and teaches computational
and mathematical techniques for modeling, simulating and analyzing the performance
of industrial systems.
Following the main content of the course:
• The basic structure of a discrete-event model and simulation: entities, object models,
process (or flow) models, event lists.
• How discrete-event simulations help its users understand infra-systems, notably to
explore logistical problems, system sensitivity and optimization.
• Fundamental concepts for simulating with specific discrete-event simulation
software.
