Excellence in Education Grants
The Executive Board of the South Central Region of the MSTA, in an effort to encourage excellence in teaching, will continue the Excellence in Education grant program to reward those teachers who go the extra mile for their students. With tight budget times, we expect more teachers than ever to be searching for ways to fund special projects for their students.
There will be one $500 grant given this year. Applicants must demonstrate a need not being met with local school funds and how this grant could help meet those needs. Any full-time MSTA South Central classroom teacher, counselor, or librarian is eligible to apply for these grants if he/she is a member of MSTA and his/her local CTA.
All applications must have this completed application and contact information for the local CTA President, and the applicant's building administrator.
The application must be submitted no later than March 1. A subcommittee of the executive board will select the winning entries, and the grant recipient will be notified prior to the South Central Spring Celebration in April and will be awarded $500 of his/her grant during the SCSC program (winners must be present to win).
As a condition of receiving this grant, the recipient must agree to share pictures and videos of their project in action. Pictures and videos WILL be shared on South Central social media. (You will need to have the permission of students appearing in photos or video to be on SCMSTA's social media.) Also, the grant winner must comply with all deadlines, or they will lose the grant.
