The Jerry S. Cribbs Scholarship honors the legacy of founder and artistic director emeritus of Cape Fear Chorale, Jerry S. Cribbs, who built a reputation of excellence as a choral music educator in the public schools of New Hanover County.
The scholarship is intended for any graduating senior from New Hanover, Pender, or Brunswick County who plans to pursue a college degree in choral music education and/or vocal performance.
- All auditions will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, with the first audition starting at 5:15 pm.
- An accompanist will be provided.
- For the audition, please select one song from the "24 Italian Songs and Arias of the 17th and 18th Centuries" book published by Schirmer.
- Singers should be prepared to introduce themselves to the adjudicators and talk about the role that music has played in their lives as well as what they hope to study in college.
Once your form is received, you will be contacted regarding an audition time and repertoire choice.
The
application deadline is by the end of the day on
March 12.
In addition to the $1000 scholarship, the winner will have the opportunity to perform for members of Cape Fear Chorale.
