Type of Application Support and Guidance Provided to WV POWER Applicants

Application support is for WV-based POWER applicants ONLY. The Hub does not provide grant writing/editing support for POWER applicants.

Application support and guidance is intended to serve as strategic guidance on proposal development, and technical feedback on the POWER application process. The Hub is not an expert in every sector that is eligible for POWER funding, and does not expect to be able to provide technical guidance on project-related questions that are specific to certain sectors or geographies. A full summary of the type of support The Hub provides to WV POWER grantees is available on our website, and detailed below.

Applicants can request feedback on:
  • proposed project scope, focus and impact;
  • diverse partnerships (and other potential partners to engage);
  • project geography;
  • strategic alignment with federal, state and local priorities;
  • budget and anticipated matching funds; and
  • potential challenges.
Support is based to all POWER grantees throughout the Appalachian region through online and in-person workshops provided by ARC. You can see a list of those workshops on the ARC website, and information about a WV-based workshop on March 1st here.

The Hub is not a representative of any private or federal funder. Applicant support is intended to help potential applicants build stronger applications. Application support does not guarantee funding or a regionally competitive application. Coaching service expertise is based on 6+ years of experience with the ARC POWER program, and 5 years of technical coaching and applicant support for WV POWER grantees.

*Note: If you are planning to submit a POWER broadband project proposal, please contact Generation WV's Broadband Connector at info@generationwv.org to learn more about their support for locally-developed broadband proposals.
