Ms Shiying Zhang graduated from China National Academy of Opera and has since performed Beijing Opera professionally on stage for thousands of audiences in Mainland China.  Majoring in Cheng Performing Style of Beijing Opera, Shiying delivered her solo theater in Wuhan, Hubei Province in 2009 including classics such as Battle at the Hu Village （“扈家庄” in Chinese） and Dream of a Lady’s Chamber （"春闺梦" in Chinese）. She was invited to perform for the President of China during the Chinese New Year’s Gala in 2012 and 2013. Shiying holds a master’s degree in arts management from George Mason University and has performed in New York and Washington DC Metropolitan areas after moving to the US.  Besides stage performance, Shiying is a popular Beijing Opera teacher in the local areas.  Her students include both adults and children, male and female and they are from various ethnic groups.  She has enabled a dozen of students from ground zero to perform on stage as supporting roles in DCBBO hosted Beijing Opera Galas since 2016.
