HNA Planning Form (Spring 2019)
Hello! If you are receiving this form, it's because you have booked a visit to Huron Natural Area for your class this spring. Please fill out this form prior to your trip to the best of your abilities.

If you have any questions or concerns after reading the planning info below, please send an email to hna-wrdsb-oe@wrdsb.ca. The naturalists at Huron Natural Area this spring are Amy Dietrich and Abigail Zamin.

**PLANNING INFORMATION**

Programs are 2 hours long. When booking your bus,  please plan to be at the natural area for the full two hours - busing time is extra. The exact bus arrival / departure times are flexible.

Typically, morning programs run from 9:30 until 11:30 am.
Typically, afternoon programs run from 12:30 until 2:30 pm.

Please let us know if you need accommodations to be made outside of these times due to your school start/end times. Differences of 20 min or less (or accommodations you have already alerted us to) can simply be recorded in the form below.

There are washrooms at the park, but access will be periodic between activities. During activities we may be as far as a 10min walk away from the facilities. Students are welcome to bring a water bottle and a pocket snack along with them. The OEE portable we meet at for the introduction will be locked once we head out into the park.

We do a lot of exploring in these programs, so if possible plan for a 5:1 ratio of adults to students (the more the merrier). Additionally, you may want to arrange your class into 4-5 groups for the trip, as we have 5 'adventure bags' of equipment we will bring with us out into the park. Name tags for students are very helpful for our naturalists.

Please encourage your class to dress appropriately for the weather! We have some extra rain coats and rubber boots for use during wet conditions, but these are limited.

Grade 2 trips focus on Growth and Change in Animals, and Grade 3 trips focus on Growth and Change in Plants. If you would like a specific focus of the trip (e.g. adaptations, life cycles, etc.) based on what your class has been learning about, please let us know and we will do our best to make it the best trip possible!
