Comrades who are keeping up with all the convention news may be aware of the preliminary schedule that's been floating around for a couple weeks. In light of the abundance of major political questions to be discussed at this convention, LSC's convention delegation intends to move to alter that agenda at the beginning of convention to squeeze in some additional debate time.

We don't doubt that our plenary speakers will be outstanding, but an hour and a half is brutally long for any speaker, and with the importance of the questions facing this convention we hope that delegates will agree that time is better spent in debate. We don't want to be disrespectful to our guest speakers or to the hotel staff, so we are not considering cutting any of the speeches entirely or moving scheduled meal times to places they didn't initially occupy in the schedule.

It is not our intent to waste anyone's time with a procedural motion that will not succeed. Therefore, we are gathering feedback on the particular schedules we have considered, and if there is substantial opposition to this idea we will not make any motion.
