Tryouts for the 8U travel team will be held on
Sunday, April 16th at
3:00 p.m. and
Saturday, April 22nd at
3:00 p.m. Both tryouts will be held on the
Middle Field.
Only 1 tryout date is required.
Tryouts will be open to
8U’s (DOB 5/1/14 to 4/30/15) and
7U’s (DOB 5/1/15 to 4/30/16). If at least 12 8U’s try out, then no 7U’s will make the 8UA team. The hope is that enough kids will try out to form a 2nd 8UB team made up of both 8U’s and 7U’s.
We are requiring that parents pre-register below for tryouts so we can arrange the tryouts based on the number of participants registered.
What is Travel Baseball? Travel Baseball is an extension of the regular season. Practices will begin as soon as teams are formed. A typical travel season will include 3 or more tournaments plus several scrimmages against other local travel teams. Practices will begin shortly after teams are put together and the season traditionally ends in July. Most tournaments are VERY local and usually within 30 minutes of Harleysville. There is an additional fee for travel baseball that runs around $250. This cost includes Harleysville’s travel uniform, umpire fees for home scrimmages and tournament entrance fees. This fee varies depending on the numbers of tournaments entered. Harleysville Baseball does have funds available to help if a child/family needs it.
