To celebrate Black History Month, TRIO Talent Search is collaborating with Upper Bound on a trip to visit the DuSable Black History Museum on Friday, February 16th. This event is for High School students only. In this trip students will gain a better understanding about the black history, culture and experiences. It will also provide a rich understanding of the global connections and diverse cultures among Black people across the Diaspora. Staff will pick up students from SACHS at 8:30am and KHS at 9am since school is in session that day. Students will then be brought to KCC where we will hop on a charter bus to be on our way to the museum. Students who participate in this event will get a chance to eat a "to go meal" prepared from the Litehouse Whole Food Grill in Hyde Park. We ask that all students eat breakfast before they are dropped off at school. However, we will offer a small snack for students during the trip. Staff will drop off students at their homes between 3pm - 4pm.
It is the students' responsibility to inform their teachers of their absence prior to event and collect any missing homework/lecture notes for that day. Please see the agenda below for more information.
