Community of Interest Survey

The League of Women Voters redistricting position is that, to the extent possible, a redistricting plan should preserve communities of interest. Telling your story and describing your communities' needs is a critical part of the redistricting process.

What are communities of interest? It can be a neighborhood, network or group of people who share a common interest in decision-making and would benefit from being grouped into one district.

How do we define a community of interest? There are no hard-and-fast rules, but it can be described via personal testimonies that highlight community issues. These questions will help develop a written description to tell your community's story.
