Well, I am sure you know of opera. But did you know opera is the ultimate playground for ALL your creative talents 🌈💡🎤 It is a fantastic and collaborative art form that tells captivating stories through beautiful songs and stage performances.

We love opera and want to show you why!! 

As part of "Discover Young Hackney" (DYH), we are inviting you this summer to join us behind the scenes of our new opera "A&E".  It's a short, fun and intense opera with a modern story set in Hackney, and with easy to listen to, catchy music. The perfect introduction to opera for anyone. 

We have created 3 steps into opera:  

1 - Go behind the scenes ... watch an OPEN REHEARSAL,  meet the team and see the creative process. (Thur 10th + Fri 11th Aug, 4-6pm) 

2 - Get creative 🎭🎹💻  in our SONG WORKSHOP tell us your ideas for an opera story, become the director, choreographer, and we'll create a song there and then with the singers & musicians (Sat 12th Aug, 9.30am-12.30pm) 

3 - See the world premiere! 🎨🔩🎶 join us at the Arcola theatre to WATCH THE SHOW and see how all the elements combine into a powerful experience! (15th-19th Aug)

In our exclusive open rehearsals and Q&A sessions, you'll to have the opportunity to learn about:

• What each creative director and designer in the team does
