San Jose Charter Academy is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with 6crickets to manage and support enrichment programs starting Summer 2022. The goal of the program is to bring the best, most-engaging enrichment programs to SCJA students to develop the whole child and help them explore their interests, discover their passions, love learning, and build social-emotional support through interest-driven, project-driven teamwork. The enrichment programs will teach STEM, chess, performing arts, sports, and more.

The approach we take is community enrichment  where we partner with quality enrichment providers and community partners to teach the programs on school campuses. We firmly believe that this approach fosters a win-win-win-win community: win for our students to access the best enrichment, win for our families to have the best out-of-school time support, win for our community partners and small businesses to impact more children, and win for SJCA to have an efficient, high quality enrichment operation.

We are soliciting applications from passionate enrichment organizations, businesses, community partners, and individuals who love creative teaching and have a proven track record of teaching engaging enrichment programs. SJCA serves students in Grade K-8. The SJCA enrichment programs are funded by grants.

ABOUT San Jose Charter School:
San Jose Charter Academy (SJCA) is located in West Covina, California; a town considered to be a suburban city within the grasp of Los Angeles, but having an extensive business presence in the Valley. SJCA has a Transition Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade enrollment of 1230 students with approximately 2000 students on the waiting list. Our student population is predominantly Hispanic, but includes a variety of other ethnicities.  Established as a charter school in 1998, SJCA has worked intentionally and purposefully in providing students with an education that prepares them for high school and beyond.  Our vision speaks to our efforts in recognizing that our students need an education that includes not only superior academic curriculum and instruction, but access to technology and its integration.  In addition, our school provides programs and resources addressing our students’ social-emotional needs…crucial for educating the whole child.
